The original Phoenix trail run

A 14 mile challenging yet fun event for both the beginner and veteran alike.

First run in 1987, the Christiansen Trail Run was one of the earliest organized trail runs in Arizona. The race runs along Trail 100 from Mountain View Park to Dreamy Draw and back. Come enjoy the scenic City of Phoenix North Mountain Preserve. The mostly single track trail consists of steep climbs and descents, with rugged terrain and loose rocks along the way to challenge you.

  • Distance:  14 miles
  • 7:30 am MST
  • Start/Finish: Mountain View Park (Phoenix, AZ)
4-hour time limit (17 minute per mile pace).

All athletes receive

Technical running shirt, aid station support at miles 2, 4, 7, 10 & 12. There will also be fantastic finisher and division awards. Water & Gatorade at all aid stations. Energy gels (GU) at miles 4 & 10.

The route is on Trail 100, the Christiansen Trail, located in the middle of central Phoenix.  Wedged between Phoenix, Scottsdale and Paradise Valley, Trail 100 is a go-to run route for locals and visitors.  Though marked as “difficult” due to length and some technical sections, the majority of the trail terrain is moderate in difficulty.
